I had to set up facial ID, Mich, on my iPhone 11, coming from the original SE. The reason was that the SE had touch ID, and so facial ID had to be set up on my phone. Somehow, the guy at Wal-Mart, where I got the phone could not set it up, but I did. Now, people say it is not necessary to do it, but on a bright and sunny January afternoon, I went to the west side of my building and set it up.
Now, mine works in dark or light, with or without glasses, but, of course not with a mask on.
