Shirley,

First of all, thank you for making me laugh. I really appreciate that. I thought your reaction to the novelty voices was funny.

However, I totally agree with you. I mean, I can understand, and can even appreciate people loving the novelty voices. If that is what you are used to dealing with, then I git it.

But I will admit I don't fully understand why they need to be options on the iPhone. I mean, they don't sound all that clear. Some of them seem quite difficult to make out. They sound rather odd!

Maybe if you are used to listening to your speech quite slow, then those voices sound better? I really don't know. But that is a guess.

Right now, I am using one of the Serie voices as my main voice. It sounds pretty clear to me, and understandable. In the past, I have used Alex, and Samantha.

I have to be careful with what I use though, because I feel that the voices are not clear enough, and can sound distorted. I am not quite sure what causes this to happen. But this is partly why I don't use Alex any longer.

Anyway, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the voices. I appreciate hearing what you, and others here on the list have to say.

Thank you,

Terri

I just updated to IOS 16.

Why on earth did they include novelty voices?

They are awful! And so weird!

Who’ll even use them?

I am using the UK voice, stephanie right now.
