Sounds interesting at first thought, but I am not sure if this is enabled that it might not be quite easy to accidently hang up on a call by pressing the side button. I might have to try this and see if it happens or not.

It is by default enabled. Just in case, check: Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. >From the options, double tap Accessibility. Scroll down and under “PHYSICAL AND MOTOR”, double tap on Touch. Look for Prevent lock to end call, which defaults to off. If you don't want the side/lock button to end calls, double tap to turn that on. Remember, it both ends the call and locks the phone. You can also say Hey Siri, hang up call if you use Hey Siri, or hold the side button in and say hang up call.
