One option is the Microsoft To Do app. For each task you can set a due date and a reminder day and time. It won't show up as an event on your calendar though.
I remember doing something similar to this with my Google calendar on line. You could set different reminders such as an email the day before or an alert 15 minutes before a meeting, with quite a few other options.
