The FridgidAire model I saw on Amazon I believe mentioned that it has a drain and that it is self-cleaning.

The first one I had, I think some mechanism that hits a little switch in there so it knows the tray is back in position and that it can start another cycle probably broke, so the tray would move back up, stop, and then it would reset, go back down, up, etc, and never start pumping water from the reservoir again unless it got lucky and worked sometimes. The second one just ended up getting too dirty, and it’s hard even for a seeing person to clean it. I wonder if there is some kind of solution one can just run through to clean up the water residue that accumulates in there? I know they are hard to drain out, and you can’t always get all of the water out through that little hole the drain plug fits in.
