Hi Kim. I don't know what kind of charging cable the airpods come with, but if it's like what Apple has done with other cables, such as for the apple watch and iPhone, it now uses a USB C connector to get power. It's a smaller USB connector, and won't fit into the larger ones. The larger connectors on computers a few years old are USB A. Apple and other manufacturers have switched to C. If I'm right, you'll need something to either plug into the wall to charge them, or Amazon sells a USB A to USB C adaptor.
I learned all this the hard way with my Apple Watch charging cable that I got. Wish Apple would have let people know this. Have a blessed day and don't work too hard.
