Using face ID is something that will take some practice. I have the phone kind of on my left leg, and kind of turn my head towards the phone and it usually works. However, I use my Hable bluetooth keyboard most of the time to unlock my phone with my passcode. I use my face ID for my crecdit card and paypal apps.
