hello anthony it all dipance where you are located and what carrier you have. in the usa unless you have 1 of there newer plans the hotspot is not a free feature. setting it up is extremely easy just a matter of you turning it on from within your settings. there are services such as teather.com that will allow you to teather off of your data plan but they do charge a yearly fee of $29.99 hth
