I some how missed the first message in this thread from Lyne stating SoundScape
could be back in July. My question is, and this is always my question with
statements like this, what is the source for saying it will be back?

Without a reliable source, this is just a useless rumor.

Best of luck, but I'll believe it when I see it:

- Not all of the project has been opensourced, so the maintainer will either
have to release an incomplete offering or handle all the fun politics around
integrating a new data provider to patch up the gaps.
- As supplied, the infrastructure can't be spun up without modification.
- If the maintainer sticks with Azure or some other cloud provider I reckon
you're easily looking at mid 4 figures a year, just on hosting the backend.

I think part of the problem here is that (in the UK at least) there really
aren't that many blindness organizations big enough to take on the commitment
of maintaining something like this, let alone that have the knowledge to do it
properly. Obviously one solution to this is to just buy the skills in, but just
to spin up a small iOS dev team you'd be looking at £300-350K in salary a year,
not including all the additional costs of employing them. Such a shame.
