What can a Victor do that an older iPhone cannot do? I started to get a Victor
Reader then realized that my older iPhone can do everything the Victor can do
plus receive phone calls and text messages.

You would do well to consider putting out a shout for a second-generation VR
Stream. Since the third generation has recently become available you might save
some money by getting a gently used second generation Victor Reader/Stream.
