Carolyn, You don't really even have to open or turn on your phone, when the alarm goes off, pick up your phone, either flick up or down, or what I do, is just swipe left to right, and the only options I have is to snooze or stop. If I want to snooze, I double tab on that, or if I want to stop the alarm, double tab on that. I think the snooze option is set as a default, so you will either have to disable the snooze when you set the alarm, or just do what I said above. I wonder if you had Hey Siri set up, could you just tell her to stop the alarm, not sure though, as I don't have the Hey Siri set up. Just a thought.
