The current version is 2.21. When you touch the App store icon, try a single finger triple tap and then flick right to updates. Once on the update screen, touch near the bottom where it says previous updates or something. Do a three finger swipe down to refresh that screen. Now, there may be a list of available updates. The app store doesn't reliably automatically show all the updates, so doing this screen refresh helps.
