Hi Christopher,

Thanks for confirming the same experience.

I spoke with Apple Accessibility and got an excellent rep who told me a
workaround I’ll be using in the future to delete apps. Go to Settings, General,
iPhone storage, and swipe right until you reach the app listing which sorts all
your apps in order of the most used to the least used storage amounts. With
focus on the app you can single finger swipe up or down to access options to
delete it, offload it, or activate it to view a screen showing the same options
with info on how much space you’ll save by deleting or offloading it. This
worked much better than going to the App Library to delete it.

I do the exact same thing you do, and I’ve experienced the same behavior you’re
seeing. I haven’t reported this to Apple yet, but we need to do that. BTW, my
workaround is to just find the app without going into the alphabetized list and
deleting it that way. I find this is a bit better than copying it to a home
screen first.

Subject: How do I delete an app from the App Library using Edit Mode?

Hi List,

I’m attempting to delete some apps never used from the growing list on my
iPhone 13 Mini running iOS 16.5. I keep the apps I use often on multiple home
screens but the ones seldom used are only located in the App Library listing
found after the home screens. I like to place the App Library in an
alphabetized listing in order to find the ones to delete as opposed to using
Apple’s category listings. However, I am unable to enter Edit mode when using
the alphabetize listing and can only invoke drag requiring me to first drag the
app to be removed to a home screen where I can then invoke Edit mode and delete
it. This seems to be a major design flaw so I’m wondering if I’m missing a
better way to delete an app located only in the App Library.

Many thanks if others can confirm what I’m experiencing and offer a quicker way
to delete an app shown only in the App Library.
