Hi Jen: I have a couple of apps named free music. They allow you to search for uncopyrighted music. You can play it, and if you like it you can download it. Unfortunately, I haven't really tried them that much but they seem accessible.

If so, you could transfer it over to your phone with iTunes. If not, you could purchase music through iTunes on your phone. It would then be downloaded and you could then play it in the built in Music app on the phone. There are also streaming services that I'm sure have accessible apps for the iPhone. There are quite a few ways to skin this cat. If we knew a little more, we could provide a bit more help.
