Vicki, I'm going to assume that he has no email account linked up to his phone currently, so, if I am wrong, please let me know. I'll start by opening the Mail app, it'll give him the option of having an account, depending on what account it is. You will select the appropriat provider. If it is an Outlook or Pops free provider, such as Time Warner cable or what's nine on a spectrum, he will select other. Then he will provide his email address and password. And click save. If it is a.org account, you will be prompted to put in the post server, and all of that the details. I hope this helps.
