Airplay absolutely works with Amazon cloud player and I use it quite frequently. If you are not connected to your wifi the airplay button may be grayed out or if something is not configured correctly with your air play device on the network. What have you tried? I do not think you can get to the air play button in cloud player by swiping. What have you tried and what has been the issue?
