Most doorbells can be set to sent alerts when they detect motion so you don't have to teach your dog how to press the doorbell button! We have a Ring doorbell as well as a so-called Ring "Stickup Cam" which is a small round cylinder you can put wherever you want and which we have sitting on a small shelf against the backwall of the house where it can see most of our backyard and I always get a notification when my dog walks around there, like "Motion detected in the back yard".
