I am sure a person who can see the map might get more information, but it does give you a location and an aprox. Distance. When I got on my flight in Vancouver to fly up North to where I live it said at first the suitcase was at the C Gates which is the area where a lot of the flights inside British Columbia depart from and arrive. As we were taxying to the runway it suddenly said “Sieghard’s suitcase left behind”. Of course I wasn’t too worried about it because knowing how Airtags work, you are not getting updates if the Airtag can’t connect to any nearby iPhones and with it in the belly of the airplane and possibly a lot of people turning on airplane mode in the plane, it makes sense. Anyways, when I got out of the plane at home (it’s just a De Havilland Dash 8 Q400 where you exit via a short set of 5 or 6 steps onto the runway, I stood beside the aircraft as they started to unload and when I opened the Fin My app it said “Sieghard’s Suitcase, with you”. Shortly after my wife saw one of the baggage handlers taking it out of the aircraft and putting it on the cart so they definitely work and are useful especially if you want to know where your stuff is.

Another advantage is that the network of Apple products is much larger. I just started with these products and I bought several Eufy tags which are compatible with the Apple Find My app/network. I use them at my business to keep track of several sets of keys and I primarily bought them because the reviews said they play a much louder tone if you trigger that feature. Fact is that I still think it’s not very loud, but whatever. I also just picked up a set of 4 Airtags because my wife and I are planning a trip to the Philippines in February/March.
