Thanks for looking into it, Richard. I hope it does show up again when the Mac app is released. I'm a very new Mac user and haven't installed any apps on it yet, but that might be something to look into when it comes out.

Launch the Shortcuts app. 2. Select the Automation tab, located near the bottom of the display. 3. Select the Add button, located near the top right corner of the display. A list of choices will appear. 4. Select Battery Level. A new screen will appear. 5. Adjust the slider to the desired battery level that will automatically activate the shortcut. The default level is 50%. 6. On this same screen, select the "Falls Below" option. Of course, you should select either of the other two options in this area, as well. 7. In the third and final area of this screen, select the "Run Immediately" option. Selecting this option will cause another option to be displayed said option being to not only announce the battery level but to also place a notification in the notifications area. 8. Select the Next button located near the top right corner of the display. A new screen will appear. Now the following step is where we, as VoiceOver users, have to take one extra step than does our sighted counterpart because of what I assume is a small VoiceOver bug that, in essence, is of no real consequence, at this point. 9. Select the "Get Started" Button. 10. Select "Speak Text" by performing either the VO split Tap or the VO pass through gesture. This will both select and open the first level of options to the Speak Text function. 11. Place VO focus on the line that VO reads as "Speak Text". 12. Single-finger, swipe up until you hear "Edit text," and select this option. The edit field for the "Speak Text" function will open and you can either use the keyboard or dictation, to type the text that the TTS engine will announce. For example, "Mark, you devilishly handsome guy, the battery level has fallen below 50 percent." 13. Select the Done button located just above the on-screen keyboard, on the right side of the display. 14. Test the announcement by selection the "Run this Shortcut" button, located near the bottom right corner of the display. 15. Finally, select the Done button, located near the top right corner of the display. 16. Close the Shortcuts app. That's all there is to it. The next time the battery level falls below the percentage you designated, it will be automatically announced, outloud. The prerequesit is that the Apple Watch screen is off/asleep. In a recent discussion it seems many people say for them this works only reliably if you tap the screen 3 times for hours and minutes and 4 times for minutes. I found with my Apple Watch series 5 40mm that haptic time rarely worked. I now have an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and I discovered the following which probably applies also to my series 5, but I haven't checked it yet although I still have the series 5 because I'm a bit of a prograstinater when it comes to selling stuff. Here is what I discovered: I have a daily "sleep" focus set which starts at 10:30 PM and it stops at 7 AM. I found that if it is past 10:30 PM, e.g. the sleep focus is active, a 1-finger double tap does nothing except it wakes up the display, but a 3-finger tap starts hours and minutes in haptic time and a quadruple tap does just the minutes. However, during the day, e.g. after 7 AM and before 10:30 PM when the sleep focus is not active, the double tap Apple says one should use works just fine and the triple tap gives me just minutes even though when the sleep focus is active it will give me hours and minutes. I just wrote Apple Accessibility a message regarding this because I assume this is a bug, but not sure until they reply. What I don't understand is that why we can't use the regular gesture for haptic time. Yes, haptic time is not actually an accessibility feature, it is available to all Apple Watch users in Settings > Clock as long as you said "Speak Time" to "Control with silent mode" instead of "Always". According to the article, if you don't use Voiceover you simply rest 2 fingers on the screen for a moment to get haptic time. Maybe there's another setting I have set somewhere that explains this. I do have sleep when wrist down is set to on, so maybe that explains it. BTW, I used the health app to set up my sleep schedule, so my iPhone goes into sleep mode on a regular week day and weekend schedule. I'm not sure anyone other than myself has said they use three and four taps for haptic time. This works for me even when I don't have sleep mode on. Maybe there's another setting I have set somewhere that explains this. I do have sleep when wrist down is set to on, so maybe that explains it. My watch has also worked this way through multiple watchOS updates. I'll be interested to hear about the response you get from Apple. I have something that works pretty reliably for me. -- Christopher (AKA CJ) =>÷ Chaltain at Outlook, USA From: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Saturday, December 16, 2023 1:02 AM To: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> Subject: Haptic time on Apple Watch Ultra 2 Hi, According to Apple, Voiceover users can use the haptic time feature by tapping the screen of the apple Watch twice with one finger to get the time in hours and minutes and tap three times if you know the hour and only want minutes indicated. For example, if you are out and about and get an email and reply to it on your iPhone, I at least would want to see on my computer that the email was replied to and that the reply is there in the sent folder or wherever I move it to. Similarly, if I delete an email I delete it because I either don't want it because it's spam or I am done with it. In that case why would I not want said email to be deleted on all my devices? As others pointed out, IMAP and Microsoft Exchange are protocols where your mail, contacts and so on are stored on the server of your provider and a local copy of the data is synced to your devices. The sync works both ways, you read an email on one device and it shows as read on the other, you reply to an email and it shows as replied to on the other, you sent an email on one device and the message is in your sent items folder on the other device or devices. You add a contact on your iPhone while you are out and about and that contact is also there on your computer and vice versa. It may take a little getting used to, but this is the way email should work when multiple devices are involved, POP3 is an old protocol which was never designed for a situation where 2 or more devices are involved, yes, you can specify to "leave mail on server" on one device, but then this does not do anything for other stuff, e.g. if you were to send a message to somebody on your iPhone with an account set up as POP3, then that message you sent lives on your iPhone only and you would never know it was sent if you looked at the sent messages on your computer. I know a few people on this list love to live in the past and they think POP3 is the reinvention of the wheel but it's definitely not. The other advantage of IMAP or Exchange of course is the fact that everything is backed up already and if you get a new device whether computer or iPhone, you don't even have to think about backing up your Outlook data file and then restoring it and all that. All you do is you enter your credentials on the new device when you set up the account and everything magically appears.
