Sadly, I heard back from their support team and Apple removed the ability for third party apps to use custom tones in iOS 6. Another thing to mention to Apple through their feedback process. Richard

I only discovered yesterday that the iPod Touch 5TH Gen supports custom tones for things like the alarm, timer, Mail sounds, etc. I went through the file sharing method as outlined by one of the Talkatone pages, but the tone isn't showing up.
