Shazam is not needed. It was an alternative that I used when I had the same issue as the OP with iOS 16. Now with iOS 17 identifying music with Siri works fine. Not sure what fixed it the update-or reset of settings. Shazam was and is more efficient and it logs the music you identified in a easy to access manner too without letting the world know what you are doing.
