Yes, you can find your deleted messages. 1. Find the edit button in the upper left corner and double tap on it.
2. Flick right to the button labeled: Show recently deleted and double tap. 3. Now, flick right with one finger through the messages and if you find one you wish to recover, flick up or down on it until you hear Recover and double tap. This screen will also tell you how many days before it will be permanently deleted. I believe it is 30 days from the date deleted.
