No, the Magic tap stops the recording. IN the app called "Just Press Record" which is $4.99 once you start the recording, there is a pause button that is one flick left from the stop button. Of course, you end up hearing VoiceOver say those things on the recording unless perhaps if you are wearing headphones but recording from the iPhone microphone. Just Press Record also can use the stereo microphones on iPhones that have them. You can record in different formats as well.
