This came up a little while ago, when I basicly had to figure it out every time I wanted to do it. After having to do it today, I feel confident enough to write how to do it, hopefully better late than never.
Go into voice memo and start a recording. It does not have to be more than a second or two, then stop it. Now, hit the more actions button, then the edit button within more actions. There is an edit button in the top left corner of the screen before you hit more actions, this is not the one you want. If you are at the end of the recording you just made, there should be a resume button. If there is no resume button, it is because you aren't at the end of the recording, so hit play, fast forward or use the time selector to get to the end, and resume should be there. When you hit resume, simply double tapping will stop the recording, stop will turn into resume. If you are using headphones, the transitions will be seemless. Hit done when you are finished. If you want to add to a recording which you made in the past, you can. Start it playing, then get all the way to the end either with fast forward or by moving the time selector. Then hit, more actions, the edit button within more actions, and the resume button should be there. Hit done when finished. Some day, I will work on how to trim these recordings with voice over.
