Hi Sandy,
It's probably in your Rotor. Try re-ordering itt, away from the top or
bottom if it's there at present.
You can also set a new Activity, with no punctuation being read. But I
think re-ordering will sort it.

this is embarrassing! I've been an iPhone user since they've been
iPhones, accessible ones at least, I was playing with the settings in
VoiceOver, trying to create a shortcut through Be My Eyes, it all
went wrong, and now I have VoiceOver reading all the full stops, et
cetera, I have tried to get rid, but I can't, can someone tell me
what setting I have to change to get back to simple reading without
pronouncing all the punctuation as we go, obviously, when editing, I
do look for it, this is just when reading text…
