I assume you are talking about text messages in the Messages app? If so, then
yes, you can do this:
1. Open the conversation by double tapping on the name
2. Go to the first message you want to delete and flick either up or down until
you get to "More", if this doesn't seem to work make sure you turn the rotor so
it's on "Actions"
3. Once you get to "More", double tap and this will select the message you are
on.
4. You can now flick right through all the messages and each one you want to
delete you double tap to selec, if you get to the one you want to keep, just
flick again to skip it.
5. When you selected all the messages check at the bottom of the screen and you
should see "Delete" and "Forward".
6. Double tap on Delete and you get the following confirmation prompt:
These messages will be deleted from all your devices.
Delete 5 messages, button

Comment:
1. Of course the number depends on how many you selected, I just tried this to
make sure it still works the same way and I happened to select 5 messages from
one of my conversations. If you select 3 then it would say "Delete 3 messages"
and if you selected 26 it would say "Delete 26 messages".
2. Unfortunately it seems that in iOS 18 Voiceover does not say if a message
you double tapped on is selected or not. It's been a while since I deleted
selected messages from a conversation, but it used to indicate "selected" for
each message you double tapped on. I recommend that if your conversation
contains a lot of messages that you maybe delete them in smaller batches like
try first to delete 4 or 5, then another 5 and once you get comfortable with it
you can delete more if you want.
