I used to buy Apple Care, but with the phones being basically waterproof nowadays and also quite tough, I have not done so for a long time. The last time I did a battery replacement it was for my iPhone 11 and it cost me $65 Canadian, so while you may get it for free if you pay your $14 a months, you can figure out pretty quickly how you can pay for a battery replacement after about 3 or 4 months and anything after this is saving money. And when it comes to insurance as for theft or loss, I have my iPhone and that of my wife added to our home insurance as a separate item and that I think costs about $100 a year for both phones so a lot cheaper than Apple Care.
