Hi there, Oh yeah, I definitely did restart my phone. I did do a force restart.
Assigning the gesture is a good idea, but that still doesn’t tell me what is going on. And, can I assign gestures to go to the App switcher as well? It is just so easy to swipe up and do what I need. 😊 Jim From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Chris Chaffin Sent: Saturday, October 5, 2024 5:26 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Home and App Switcher are not working as they should I assume that you tried restarting your phone, but did you do a force restart? Just in case you do not know: 1, Quickly press the volume up button and release. 2 Quickly press the volume down and release. 3, Press and hold the power button for at least 6 seconds. This will automatically shutdown and restart your phone. If that does not work, then a work around is to assign a gesture to going home and the app switcher. This will not get rid of the original gestures, it will just give you backup gestures. 1, Go to voiceover settings. 2, Swipe to commands. 3, Swipe to Touch gestures. Either look for a gesture that you do not use, or for one that is not assigned anything. For example, I have assigned a 2 finger swipe to the left to go home, and a 2 finger swipe to the right to go to the app switcher. I just personally fine it easier and quicker for me to use those gestures. Hope this helps. It’s the same for getting to the app switcher, which I use to either switch or close apps. I’ve never had issues with these gestures in the past, and frankly, I always found them easy to use, just swiping up with my finger, counting the clicks, and knowing where I was. Sometimes, what shows up is a screen dealing with SIRI, where I guess I can type rather than speak. Other times, it will make the clicks and such, but it will just take me somewhere else or maybe back a layer if I’m in a program. It’s funky. What is interesting is that if I use my Bluetooth keyboard, I can use the VO-H key, and that will take me to my home screen. And, if I do it twice, then it takes me to the app switcher, and I can do what I want from there. I don’t remember doing anything to my phone to have this happen. And, I only began seeing this happen earlier this week. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions, please? Jim -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
