No, I only use Bluetooth speakers and headphones when I'm listening to music not for general use of the phone and weirdly. I guess it took longer for the change in settings to take affect because when I first did it it's still read me the messages and all of a sudden later, I noticed that it wasn't anymore. It just says the person's name and there's a notification that is a text so I guess it worked after all.
