When it comes to that I assume you may be able to invoke Siri from the glasses like you can from most Bluetooth headsets so whatever you can ask Siri to do and playing music or an Audible book is part of what Siri can do, the answer would probably be yes. But as others said, when it comes to anything other than the fact you gets hands free video calls which is huge for many, these would be just a glorified Bluetooth headset.

May I ask whether these glasses give you access to all your apps on your iPhone, other than those requiring a camera, such as Facetime? So, for example, would they read my book in Audible? Would they read my e-mails? Would they tell me when my next train (I have an app which will do this) etc. Alison From: 'Sandy Tomkins' via VIPhone <viphone@googlegroups.com> Sent: 21 November 2024 09:11 To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: First impressions of the Meta Ray Ban glasses and the Be My Eyes integration. hi, I do have the glasses, indeed, I've had them for a year now! A very early adoptor I was… at the moment, the Be My Eyes functionality does not include be my AI. they are certainly talking about it though… so, only calls to volunteers at the moment. I have done this, on the first day it became available, about a week ago I think, and it worked flawlessly and was very good. as for other apps, such as Seeing AI, no, matter has not made it API open generally, yet. however, reading between the lines, I think they have been very surprised at the enthusiastic response of the Vip community, and perhaps, getting to be a bit more open minded re-making their platform available for third-party apps. Plus, a small observation, when my news is the Be My Eyes volunteer service, there are times when actually the phone's back camera would do better, because of an angle, perhaps electronic display which is low down something like that, in which case, you can just tap twice on the camera button on the glasses and it will swap it straight to your phone camera and the same in reverse. Lastly, I think it has been suggested that you can make FaceTime calls using the glasses, I don't think this is correct, but could be proved wrong. However, you can make video WhatsApp calls, and it works well for that. what I do, which may not be the most efficient method, as I initiate the WhatsApp call on my phone, WhatsApp video call that is, and then I double tap the glasses once I'm connected, double tapping the camera button, and the phones back camera default over to the glasses and a few go as far as I know, there's no time restriction on this because you're not actually creating a video you streaming. hope some of this helps rather than confuses… All the best, Sandy and Z the boy who wants his own super doggy canine pair! Hello, I installed the Be My Eyes update allowing me to connect the app to my Meta smart glasses. I had to restart my iPhone to finish the process but it is working fine now. My first test was to look around my front yard. I simply said. Hey meta, be my eyes and I was connected to a be my eyes volunteer after about a 30 second wait. She described everything perfectly, once I removed my hat, which was partially blocking the camera's view. My next test was to see if the volunteer could tell me when a traffic light changed to the walk sign. This time I did not get a connection so I relied on my OKO app, which works well at this particular intersection. The next call I made was to find a cell phone repair store in a strip mall. She red the store names until we found the store and she guided me to the front door. Unfortunately, the store wasn't opened, so I'll have to get a new screen protector another time. As I walked home, I tried for the walk sign again. This time the call went through in a few seconds, and the volunteer could easily see the light and told me when it turned to walk. (I also used the OKO app as a back up ). I haven't used the Be My Eyes app in the past, but I can see that this hands free approach will be a game changer! I am looking forward to using it to navigate airports and traveling independently. PS, I used a 3 finger double tap to turn off voice over speech while using Be My Eyes to cut down the audio input. -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
