No, it doesn't hurt to keep them powered on when you put them back in the case. That's what I do, and I haven't had any problems with battery. I think the length of time the battery lasts depends on how you're using the glasses. If you're taking a lot of videos, they won't last as long as they will if you're just wearing them and periodically asking Meta AI questions. I heard they should last about four hours too, but I'm still getting used to wearing glasses so I don't think I've worn them long enough in one stretch to kill the battery from a full charge yet.
