The problem you describe is usually caused by
your mail program automatically filling in the
subscribe address, and the person not catching
that. Make sure you are using the posting address.

Hello Jody,
I have been trying to contact the owner of the
Smart Glasses group you are referring to in this
email , and I also have been trying to send an email to this list.
I have already subscribed to this list you are
referring to, but I keep getting an email
delivery failed when I try to send an email.
I can reply to an email on that list if I see one, but that is all I can do.
I used the same email address you sent to
subscribe in this email, and it worked fine, but
not able to just send an email to the list.
I am currently waiting to hear back from Eric regarding this issue.
So, in other words, if someone joins this list
with your email address, they still can’t just
send an email to the list, or I can’t.
Kindly,
Janet.

They say there are other smart glasses groups
and lists on google groups and a variety of
social platforms. They also say that other smart
glasses are on the horizon. However, I am still
learning my new Meta Smart glasses which are
paired with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. While I am on
several other lists and social platforms, I am
finding this list to be of the greatest value
thus far. And I sincerely hope these types of posts continue.
I personally am loving my Wayfarer smart glasses
that I started using Thanksgiving Day here in
the United States. In the last few weeks I have
used them to spot vehicles in my path, find the
dumpsters in my complex, find my apartment door,
make calls and send texts while outside walking,
call AIRA and Be My Eyes, and much more.
Much of what I learned to do I learned by
reading posts on this list. And yes I am aware
that this is not designed for the blind
community. No I am not depending on this solely
for mobility. Yes it is one tool in my toolbox.
I keep getting lectured by people on social
media who don’t know me and how tech savvy I am. Smile!

I agree with Carolyn. I’m posting the stuff
about the Ray band glasses. I think it’s OK,
and, even appropriate since the iPhone is
involved with the use of the glasses. And I’ll
also say that the delete key has definitely
become my friend. There are some things that I
just want to go ahead and delete and move on.
But the glasses is something that I am grateful
for the post because at some point when I have a
little extra money, I might go ahead and buy the glasses.

Alison, thank you very much for reposting the
links for the groups for the Ray-Ban glasses.
Personally, I think this is an OK topic for this
list. It involves integrating the glasses with
the phone and we’re gonna hopefully see the
pairing for Be My Eyes and era improve. I have a pair of absolutely love them.
I don’t think the list needs to be tailored to
prevent this topic from being on the list
because of those that aren’t interested. Do
what I do hit delete hit view or unsubscribe.
I do think sometimes before people Ask an answer
questions going through the threads to see if
it’s already been addressed would be helpful.
I can’t tell you how many of the same question
I have seen over and over on this topic. So
instead of those of us that are really
interested in the glasses having to move to
another list those that aren’t interested.
Need to realize it’s not all about them every minute.
