Less expensive, starting next spring the SE is rumored to be similar to the iPhone 14 with Face Id, no home button and much thinner bezels, but it would have the notch design instead of the dynamic island and a single lense rear camera which would allow Apple to keep the cost down. However, it will have the newest A18 chip of the iPhone 16 as it will support Apple Intelligence. I guess Apple could give it the same chip as the 15 Pro which is the A17 and it supports Apple Intelligence, but I believe all iPhone SE models so far had the same chip as the one of the phone from the prior fall release so that would be the A16 from the iPhone 16..
