Davy, obviously some of the lazy beta testers must have submitted feedback on this because it’s fixed in the iOS 18.2 release which didn’t come yesterday, but is now most likely going to be released on Thursday. I rthink you might want to stop generalizing and call everybody lazy and claim nobody except you submits bug reports to Apple Accessibility. I doubt your Apple engineer who said he gets almost no bug reports finds all these bugs by him or herself so somebody must be sending them. The fact is that most likely a very large majority of people are simply “users” who may not want to be sending bug reports and it’s also not necessary that 90% of blind users sends them just as 90% of sighted people don’t submit feedback if something doesn’t work for them. It’s the 5% or 10% of people who have an interest in this who do it and that is enough.
