Let me see if I can make this short! I have a ghost texter. I get the messages from goblety-gook day and night, sometimes 3 in an hour. It starts with 906 and then the date and then brew and the rest is like Chinese. He/she/it is driving me nuts. Talked to Sprint 3 times on Sunday, finally to a technician. They blocked short numbers, but final outcome was go to a Sprint store and see if it can be blocked. I have also tried texting and telling the thing to knock it off.
Today I went to the Sprint store. Upshot of this encounter was that the person I talked to also was getting the same message on her iPhone. She said the only thing she could suggest is to wipe the phone. Question: Would wiping the phone help? If so, can someone walk me through step-by-step, please? I am very nervous about doing this without a step-by-step. I don't want to lose my apps. I do know I will lose my settings, (what a pain), but I will only do this if there is a chance it will work.
