Hi Rick, How many people are using your Wi-Fi and how many devices do you have connecting to it? I am just asking because in some way you are wasting your money for such an upgrade if it's just you or yu and maybe 1 or 2 other people using it and if you don't have dozens and dozens of devices connecting. Even then it depends on the devices since many smart home devices don't yet support Wi-fi 7. I have a Netgear Orby Mesh system both at home and the professional version at my store and while I have been thinking about this as well, I highly doubt I would see much of a benefit. At my store my computers are all hardwired to the router and therefore any potential advantage in Wi-Fi speed is irrelevant. I have decided to wait for at least another year or maybe longer depending on how fast the uptake in support of wi-Fi 7 is with device makers.
Having said all this, a Wi-Fi 7 router I thought always supports the 6 Ghz band and I would certainly not buy anything which doesn't have it. These are of course just my thought son the topic. I’m thinking about upgrading my current Orbi wifi system to something with wifi 7 support. I’m looking at the Eero 7 models which seem to have gone down in price when compared to Orbi. If anyone has had experience with the version of the software on either IOS or Windows, I’d like to hear how accessible it is with VoiceOver or Jaws in the case of windows. I’m considering either the Eero 7 or the Eero pro 7. The 7 is dual band and the pro is tri-band with the third band being 6ghz. Any feedback on either of these 2 models much appreciated. The tri-band is supposed to be faster but not sure if the 6ghz band is even used with an Iphone 16 pro. Noe that my current Orbi system is only WiFi 5.
