Well, if you want something to read text for you that is an AI app, use
Be My Eyes. It does a great job, and even reads handwriting.
I just tried a simple card from my favorite mystery author, Laurie R.
King which is a picture of the book cover for her book, The Lantern's
Dance. I made sure there was good lighting in the room.
Once, it said it was a book title, The Great Houdini, and has a magic
lantern on it…
The next time, it was something like the Natural Boy by Andrew
Clements. There is nothing in my house, let alone in my hand, that has
anything to do with Houdini or whomever Andrew Clements is. Sadly, an
example of AI hallucination.
I confirmed what I knew was on the card by using VDScan (formerly Voice
Dream Scanner) and it is indeed The Lantern's Dance.
It does have an image of a lantern, which I'm sure made Ally think it
was something completely different. So, I wouldn't trust Ally for
reading text.
In everything else, I've found ally to be very good.

thanks for your recommendation of this app.
I am using it for just a little while now since mid-morning and when I
tell it a bit about myself it appears to like that as it says then that
ist can assist me better.
Unfortunately I asked it if ift would read print for me and it said that
only images that it could describe/summarise so I was disappointed with
that one.
I asked it about a little problem with the house and it gtave me very
clear instructions indeed as to how to address the problem, very
impressive indeed.
I asked it too about my favourite footbacll team and a game of last
Saturday and i gave me chapter and verse of it which was great as I
missed it.
I guess one could request a sukmmary too.
On the matter of a script for your talk not sure it can but if you
chat/type to it surely it will oblige.

I got the app yesterday, the ally app from envision, and find it
extremely impressive! I did have issues creating account, not
that you need to do that, but there was a catcher thing which
had me completely lost, so I needed cited help for that. Plus,
compared to yesterday, my ally was working extremely slowly

to know is this, I got a response from the ally about a question
I had, and it was so good I wanted to keep it so I asked the
ally to make a transcript. but I cannot find a way to copy that
transcript, I am in the "talk to…" Page. possibly, where I in
the "chat" page which is text based, it might've been easier,
but I wanted to use the conversational method. so, has anyone
got a solution to this or, would my suggestion of having the
capability of telling the ally to send the transcript to Notes,
work for anyone else as it would for me?
I'd like to encourage everyone to give this a try, it is free,
and really very impressive plus it moves seamlessly between
speech, then text, and then tusing the camera. it is still only
capable of interpreting still shots, so a bit slow, however,
definitely usable, less prone to hallucinations and has such
potential! plus, it assures me, it can do OCR not just the usual
summarising…
