Hi.

Tonight I went to a local bar where trivia is played every Wednesday evening. I
was using my iPad 13 Pro to text in our team's answers. Like last week, the
team I was on finished last, but we had fun. I then decided to close the iPad
in its Magic Keyboard. It acted weird, and every time I closed it, it was
looking for my unlock code. I figured that something may have gotten into the
keyboard, so I took the iPad out and wiped everything with a very slightly damp
cloth. It seems to work after that, so I put it away. When I got home, I
decided to do a double check of things. I opened it, and got absolutely no
response from it. I called up Apple, and they thought the battery was
completely discharged, so I plugged it in. There was still no sound from it.
Apple scheduled a call back for me, and that should happen any minute. Just for
fun, I connected it to a USB C cable that I charge my Tribid Max speaker, and
again there was no response. I took the iPad out of the Magic Keyboard in case
something was wrong there. Just for fun, I put it in the keyboard case. That's
when I noticed something. I basically have no useable vision, but I still can
see sources of light. I noticed the keyboard briefly lit up and then went dark.
I thought perhaps Voiceover did its lower the volume, so I tried increasing it.
I had no luck there. I tried using Siri to turn on Voiceover, and heard
nothing. Now, to make sure nobody at the bar could read the texts I sent, I had
screen curtain on. I did the gesture to turn it off, and the screen lit up. I
knew Voiceover was working, but for some unknown reason I couldn't hear it.
That's when I thought somehow the Bluetooth headphones were on. I was sure I
turned them off, but it's hard to tell in a noisy bar. I put on the sleep
headphones, and hit the power button on them. The nice voice reported power was
off, so I tried to do something on the iPad. What do you know? Voiceover was
speaking loud and clear. I'm very thankful I have enough vision to observe
light sources, and by using that I figured out what was up.

All is well, and I'll report what I learned when I get the call from Apple.

Just sharing something that happened.

All out there, have a blessed day and don't work too hard.

Kevin and Lily
