By now there are a lot of items in that list, especially stuff we buy regularly, so if I want to re-add items I just select to included completed items and I can go through the list and double tap items so they once again are marked as not completed. There are of course also dedicated apps for this like Any List, I am sure if you take a look at Applevis there might be other suggestions. I think Any List is also not free.
