Looks OK, not a brand I heard about before. I primarily have Anker, ESR or
Belkin products.
My wife and I both have a 3-in-1 MagSafe charging stand on our bed side tables
and that is from Belkin, in my office I have a 5-in-1 charging stand from ESR
which has a small silent fan which automatically comes on when you attach an
iPhone and which blows air over the back to keep it cool during charging.
I then have one very large battery which I mentioned before was a Kickstarter
project several years ago from a company called Hyper, it has just under 27,000
MAH, it’s all made from metal and has a really premium feel with 4 USB-C ports
and 1 of them can deliver 140 Watts which you don’t find often and especially
back then that was a first.
I have a smaller MagSafe battery which is also from ESR, I think it’s 10,000
MAH and while it has 1 USB-C port which is for charging as well as for plugging
in a device, it can attach to the back of the iPhone magnetically (MagSafe).
It’s pretty much exactly the width of the iPhone and when attached stops right
below the camera bump and it’s of course maybe twice as thick as the iPhone.
Finally for travelling I also have a wall charger which is also from Hyper, it
has a folding plug to plug into the wall and it’s very compact, but fairly
heavy. It has 2 USB-C ports and 1 USB-A port, again 1 USB-C port can deliver
140 Watts, the second can deliver 100 Watts and the USB-A port I think delivers
20 or 25 Watts.
I pair this with a small folding 2-in-1 charger from ESR which when folded up
is smaller than a deck of cards and it can charge my iPhone as well as my Apple
Watch at the same time. This means I need 1 USB-C cable to connect it to the
wall adapter, I can then use a second USB-C cable for my laptop and finally I
typically carry one of these multi-function cables in a 6-foot length which can
plug into a USB-C or U/sb-A port and which on the other end can plug into a
USB-C port or by using one of the attached adapters it converts to Micro USB or
a Lightning plug.
So in total when we travel, we each have 3 cables, 1 wall charger, a folding
MagSafe charger and we each have one of those ESR MagSafe batteries. Depending
on where we go and for how long, I may bring the big battery which can charge
my laptop, both our iPhone and Apple Watches as well as any Bluetooth headsets
or speakers.

I wouldn’t touch that one with a 10 foot pole for the following reasons/red

1. They claim 38,800 Mah which would mean you cannot take it on an airplane
because portable powerbanks have to below 100 Watt Hours which is around 27,000
Mah.
2. For such a large capacity the size and weight they list seems unrealistic
3. The approx.. $30 price point again is very cheap and sometimes you really do
get what you pay for or not pay for
4. They list dual inputs, but at one point say 1 is Micro USB and 1 is USB-C,
further they mention only 2.1A at 5 Volts which means just over 10 Watts, not
actually sure if that how much is draws to charge, but one thing they don’t
list and which every good power bank should list these days is how many Watts
each port can produce. In order to charge an iPhone 16 at top speed you need at
least 30 Watt, for most laptops at least 65 Watts and to fast charge a Mac
laptop you need 140 Watts. It also sounds almost like this has only 1 USB-C, 1
Micro USB and 4 USB-A ports and really nowadays one almost doesn’t need any
USB-A ports any more. You can always get a multi function cable from Amazon
which has 2 USB-C ends and which on one end has an attached USB-C to USB-A
adapter so you can still plug it into a USB-A port and on the other end mine
has adapters from USB-C to Micro USB and Lightning port so this cable pretty
much can do it all except maybe Mini USB, but there isn’t much around with that
any more.
5. Lastly, at one point in their description they say this is the “portablest”
power bank… I think this might be one of those devices which comes straight
from China 😊

I would stick with reputable brands like Anker, ESR, Mophie, UGreen, Hyper etc.

Absolutely incorrect, the charging time has nothing to do with the capacity of

I would recommend you look at Anker because I think especially with Prime Days
coming up (provided you have an Amazon prime account) you should be able to get
some very good deals.
If you want something for at home which you can use of an extended power
outage, you should go big as in 20,000 MAH or even better 25 or 26,000 MAH.
For example, an iPhone 16 Pro has a battery with a capacity of 3,582 MAH or
13.94 WH (that stands for Watt Hours) and sometimes very large capacity
batteries give Watt Hours instead of MAH (Milliamp Hours). Anyways,
theoretically, if you have an iPhone with a 3,582 MAH battery and an external
battery with 20,000 MAH capacity, you should be able to charge your iPhone
completely about 5.5 times (20,000 divided by 3,582). Of course that isn’t
completely exact, you may charge your iPhone when it’s down to 8% one day, but
maybe when it’s 19% another day. But if you don’t let it run down to 0%, I’d
say you will get about 5 charges out of such a battery, get one with 25,000 or
26,000 MAH and you most likely get at least 6 or maybe even 7 charges.
The large capacity batteries can usually also charge a laptop which charges via
USB-C at 65 or even 100 Watt, and of course you can charge anything which
charges via USB like hadsets, Bluetooth speakers, Bluetooth keyboards, an Apple
Watch, an iPad etc.
Nowadays these batteries typically have at least 2 and sometimes they have 3 or
4 ports, some are USB-C only whereas many still have at least 1 USB-A port (the
older, larger port). Keep in mind that fast charging an iPhone typically will
be via USB-C as you need at least 25 Watts output and 30 Watts is better.
I have a large battery from Hyperjuice which can output up to 240 Watts and it
has 1 port which can output 140 Watts which is required if you want to fast
charge a Mac laptop. While I don’t have one of them, I have used it for my
laptop, of course my iPhone and other stuff. It has 4 USB-C ports, as I said, 1
can deliver 140 Watts, 1 can do 100 Wats and the 2 remaining can do 60 or 65
Watts and they also work in reverse for charging the power bank. Keep in mind
that your total output is always divided up across all the ports, e.g. if I
were to use the full 140 Watts to fast charge a Mac laptop, then I wouldn’t
have the full 100 Watts and 2 times 65 Watts available on the other 3 because
that would exceed the total capacity. The good thing is that you don’t have to
really worry about it as it regulates itself and just as with wall adapters
which deliver 100 //Watts or 140 Watts per port, you can safely plug in a
headset which only requires 5 Watts because the port will only deliver what the
device can use. Similarly, if you have an older battery which can only deliver
say 10 Watts, you can plug an iPad into that port and it will charge, but very
slowly.
Anker even makes power stations, those are not really portable or at least not
to the point where you can easily put them in a backpack because they are maybe
the size of a car battery, but they are meant for somebody who, for example,
maybe has a cabin out in the woods somewhere with no power, but they want to
make sure they have enough juice for the weekend to charge their laptop, iPhone
etc.
Anker makes an entire line of such devices under the name “
Anker SOLIX <https://www.ankersolix.com/ca/collections/portable-power-stations>
“ and you can get systems which pretty much can run your home and which cost
many thousands of dollars.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you plan to bring your power bank
along when you travel, you must put it n your carry on luggage if you fly and
to be taken on an airplane, it cannot exceed a capacity of 100 WH which is MAH
is 27,000. This is why most external large capacity batteries are 25,000 or
26,000 MAH as this comes in at just under the 100 WH limit..

Hi list! I am considering purchasing a portable charging power bank for my
iphone. I thought that it might be a good idea to have something like this for
times when a storm or something knocks out the power. Can anyone tell me the
difference between the chargers that say 10,000 Milliamp hours and the ones
that say 20,000 Milliamp hours? Does it concern charging time or number of
charges?
