When I give an unopened iPhone to a family member, rather than having them read me the IMEI and serial number and the like on the back of the iPhone box, I just ask them to take a picture of the back of the box for me, and then I'll copy the appropriate information from the picture to a file for my records later on. When I do this, however, since I like to check with one of the online IMEI checker sites first to make sure I'm reading the picture correctly, it sometimes takes a while as I have a hard time getting one of my iPhone apps to correctly read the pertinent information from the pictures.
When I was doing this yesterday, though, since the pictures are of course on my iPhone, I decided to just try the detect text in the photos app. And surprisingly, it read the IMEI numbers and the serial number correctly on the first attempt in just about every case, while Seeing AI and Be My Eyes never did get a correct IMEI, although they may have gotten a serial number correct once or twice. Oh, and who knows which ones of these are safe or not, but the free IMEI checker I use is: https://imeicheck.com/iphone-imei-check Vicky Collins USA -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
