Thanks for these instructions Alan but I can’t get them to work. I do a select then a select all. All messages are highlighted. If I then swipe right I simply get all mail which is a heading then dictate & cancel. I do get to an email in the list which says highlighted but if I then swipe up to delete it only deletes that message. I also tried touching an email after select all & it is highlighted but again, delete only deletes that one. I also tried swiping up immediately after choosing select all but get nothing.
Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong? First, I’ll provide my use situation. I’m using an iPhone 16e running iOS 18.6 with a single gmail account using the IMAP protocol. I never save any emails on my iPhone but save any I want to keep in Outlook folders on my Windows 10 desktop computer using Outlook 2019. On my iPhone with the native Mail app, all emails are either in the Inbox, Trash, or Junk folders. I use the native Mail app to quickly read through emails and delete them individually unless they are items I want to save to folders using Outlook 2019 on my desktop computer. I still have over 400 emails in my native Mail Inbox. Here is how I would delete all of those 400+ emails in my Inbox using the native Mail app on my iPhone: 1. Open the native Mail app. 2. Ensure the Inbox is the current folder of my gmail account mailbox. 3. At the top of my iPhone screen to the right and just to the left of the More button, place focus on the Select button and single finger double tap on the screen. 4. Single finger swipe left a couple of times until Select all is announced and single finger double tap to execute it. 5. All emails contained in my Inbox are highlighted on the screen. 6. Single finger swipe right until focus is on those selected messages. 7. Single finger swipe up or down until Voiceover announces delete and single finger double tap to execute the delete. Within the options on this single finger swiping are Activate, Archive, Mark as read, Flag, More, Read later, Drag item, and Delete. I hope the above is helpful.
