also, for Google accounts, what Apple Mail calls archive is actually the “All Mail” area. Google gets weird in that it does not really use folders, even though that is what Mail protocols are thinking of. If you delete a message in any “Folder” in Gmail it is possible depending on some advanced settings that it will be deleted from all folders. If this is for a corporate account, then can override some rules also.
