I do not know, I was just passing along the information since I know lots of people on these lists wear hearing aids. I'd contact the folks holding the meeting. Often, if you sign up, they send recording links later, but check with them. I hope it works out.
It sounds like great information. I do not need hearing aids yet, and have a medical appointment at that time, or I would check into it further.

On October 21 from 6:00-7:30, the New York City Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association will present Dr. Tina Childress who will discuss how hearing access technologies provide tools to enhance inclusion and independence. Mobile devices are powerful tools for communication access for individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This session will highlight built-in iOS and Android accessibility features such as media captions, sound notifications, and speech-to- text, as well as connectivity with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and emerging wireless protocols like Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast.

She will also explore third-party apps for captioning, remote microphone use, video communication and new innovations such as captioning glasses and real time translation. Practical strategies for digital accessibility, including captioning online content and accessible design, will be shared.

Tina Childress, Au.D., CCC-A is an audiologist in mainstream and residential school settings. She is also an award-winning presenter, adjunct lecturer, mentor for children and adults, and is active on various local, state and  national Boards and Committees as well as social media. As a late-deafened adult with bilateral cochlear implants and who is fluent in ASL, her areas of expertise include assistive technology for visual and auditory communicators, advocacy to promote accessibility and psychosocial adjustment to hearing loss. Dr. Childress has created numerous online resources on a variety of technology and accessibility-related subjects in an effort to help individuals who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing connect to the world around them.
