Go to settings, accessibility voiceover, then scroll to audio. Double tap that then scroll to audio ducking and double tap to toggle it on or off. To add audio ducking to the roder, go to settings, accessibility, voiceover then roder and select Audio ducking. You could then toggle it on and off using the roder when necessary. the rotor and turn it off and on as needed so you could have it off until you
are in a situation when you might need it and then you could turn it on or
vice versa

something to do with phones that use audio ducking, putting this off should
resolve the problem.

My phone isn’t muted
either!
My phone is not muted, and
the behavior is the same every time on the locked screen. Maybe this
will force me to get better with facial recognition so I don’t have to enter
the PIN!

mention that I am using the iOS 26.1 Developer Beta, but even when I was
using 26.0, I don’t recall the clicks not being there and they are certainly
there now. Are you sure you didn’t accidently mute your iPhone because this
will suppress the clicks.

I am seeing
this also, on the locked screen. It is odd, because I have a number
in my PIN that repeats, and when I enter it the second time it does click,
but not the rest of the time.
I would also
like to know if there is a fix. It really makes it harder for me to
enter the PIN.

update to IOS-26.01, I notice that the faint sound I used to hear when
entering my passcode are gone. I hear nothing. They used to be very faint,
not at all as loud as the sound I’d hear when entering my passcode in
other situations. But now there’s nothing.
