Hello,
A couple of years ago I tried the braille screen input (BSI), using the
Iphone 14 with IOS 16. It was not practical to be useful. Typing the
first ten letters was reliable but beyond that it was erratic.
A couple of months ago I got the Hable One Bluetooth braille keyboard.
A much better experience...more useful.
Recently I got the Iphone 17 with IOS 26. The BSI was much improved.
The problem with using BSI is the inadvertent activating of something on
the screen. Finding focus has switched somewhere other than from the
edit field. My finger tips must be getting too close to the screen
surface and it is the more sensitive screen, called a liquid glass.
The Hable does not have this issue.
I really like the BSI for choosing a misspelled word's substitution in a
list.
I don't think that the Hable can do this.
With the Hable I turned on auto correct but half of the substituted
misspellings are not right. This requires manual changing.
For now, I'll be using both methods of braille input and eventually one
will become preferred.
