Pressing the side button twice is what you do bring up Apple Pay or to confirm a payment with Face Id if you have Apple Pay setup. It has no baring on Siri and pressing the side button twice quickly does not turn off Siri. Anyways, in order to check your options, go to Settings > Apple Intelligence and Siri, now swipe right until you hear “Talk and type to Siri, button”, double tap here. If you want Siri to react to you saying “Siri” or “Hey Siri”, make sure the first choice is selected. If you only want Siri to rreact to “Hey Siri”, make sure the second option is selected If you don’t want to be able to get Siri’s attention by saying anything, select “Off”. Next is what you want to check, it will say “Press side button for Siri” and this should say “switch button, on”. If it says off then obviously somehow ti got turned off and you can double tap on it to turn it back on. The explanation underneath says “Press and hold the side button to talk to Siri”. Hello, I upgraded from an iPhone 8 to a 17 and the person at the store transferred my info from my old phone to the new one with the side-by-side method. I hold the side button in to summon Siri. He set up Hey Siri for me and it worked. Today, I pressed the side button twice just to see what it would do and now Hey Siri doesn’t work! How can I get this back; step-by-step if possible please?
