Thanks for this Richard. I’ve since turned the “change with buttons” setting
to off. Hadn’t thought about this messing with my ringer volume when
I mess with the buttons.
Stay Grateful

1. Is VoiceOver muted? The action button should speak unless you either have
VoiceOver muted, or have it set to vibrate instead of speak.
2. The ringer volume is under settings, sounds and haptics, and it is slider
and as you flick up on that combo box, it will ring briefly so you know how
loud it is.
Next to that is a setting that says change with buttons, you want that off.
Otherwise every time you turn the volume down, it will also lower the ringer
volume.

Thanks Christoph when I pressed and held the action button it said "slient mode
so I pressed it again and felt the haptic vibration so I assume it unsilenced
the phone.
I tried calling myself and voila it rang albeit very quietly. Now to figure
out how to increase the ringer volume.

Subject: iPhone 16E ringer is silenced
Recently I got an iPhonwe 16E and over the last few days I have noticed that
the ringer is silenced and pressing the action button does not unsilence the
ringer.
Is there any way to unsilence it other than the action button?
Sincerely,
