I meant screen away mode.

I'm not clear what you are saying.

Table Top Mode is when the phone/iPad is flat on a table and you are brailing like you are on a perkins brailler.

Screen away mode with the charging port on the right is when the phone is held between the palms with your fingers curled over each end so dot 1 would be the index finger on the left hand and dot 4 would be the index finger on the right hand.

Which one is giving you trouble?

I've had no issues on my 16 pro running 26.5.2.

*Subject:* My BSI no longer useable…for months now

Hello,

With the recent flurry of BSI postings, I also have a problem.

Until some months ago, BSI worked with my Iphone 17 pro.

It was in the table top mode, screen away and the charge port on the right.

Now it doesn’t seem to have the finger/dots alighned properly.

Finger calibration no longer works.

Recent postings suggested slight variations in holding the phone to get the fingers ligned up. None of these has made a difference.

In Command Mode, some finger gestures are correct:

:3-finger swipe to the right toggles between braille and command mode.

Pressing all 6 fingers will toggle screen curtain on & off.

Pressing together 1-2-3 or 4-5-6 will move to the first or last element.

I have to finger 1 & 2 to enter and escape help.

In Help, the dot numbers are announced but they are not always correct. I explored finger combinations to hear the dot numbers.

When pressing fingers 1 and 4 to get the next and previous element, I hear 3 and 6. Pressing 2 and 5 always gives me 1 and 4.

Pressing 3 and 6, nothing is announced.

Pressing 1-2-3 together, the three numbers are announced in the correct order.

Pressing the 3 fingers separately I hear:

Dot 3, dot1 and silence.

I switched from unified contracted to uncontracted braille and in Settings I turned off right hand mode.

Where do I check if the orientation is unlocked?

Since calibration no longer works what are my options?
