Hi Mark, Just for your information, if you have Push enabled or selected one of the time intervals for checking mail, the mail app can be completely closed, i.e. removed from the app switcher. I have mine set to Push and even when the mail app is not even in the app switcher mail comes in all the time and I hear the sounds I selected for my various accounts.
